Maria Ansari, MD

Chief and Chief of Staff of Kaiser Permanente, San Francisco Medical Center and former Chief of Cardiology

Maria Ansari is the physician in chief and chief of staff for Kaiser Permanente, San Francisco Medical Center, where she oversees the outpatient and inpatient care delivery in an integrated health care model for a population of over 240,000. She is a cardiologist who specializes in heart failure. She serves on the board for The Permanente Medical Group, the largest physician led medical group in the country. Her focus has been on medical education and equitable health care. She has fostered partnerships with the SF department of public health and was the medical director of the Moscone Mass Vaccine Hub, which was the largest COVID vaccine distribution center in California in 2021. Maria completed her cardiology fellowship at UCSF where she remains an assistant clinical professor of medicine. Prior to that, she received her training at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor for Biology, Medicine, and Internal Medicine. She lives in San Francisco with her family where she raised her 2 children and enjoys running in the Presidio.
