Jenny Wilson, MD

Jennifer G. Wilson, MD, MS, FACEP, is a Clinical Professor and Chief of the Division of Emergency Critical Care in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. A lifelong San Franciscan and an alumna of UCSF School of Medicine, Dr. Wilson completed her emergency medicine residency and critical care fellowship at UCSF and San Francisco General Hospital.

Following her training, Dr. Wilson joined the faculty at UCSF/SFGH as the first attending physician to work in both the emergency department and ICU. In 2017, she moved to Stanford to help establish the Emergency Critical Care Program, a novel initiative to improve care for patients admitted from the ED to the ICU. This program has served as a model for the development of similar interventions at other academic medical centers, and its impact was recognized by the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s National Patient Safety First Award in 2025.

Aligning with her clinical practice, Dr. Wilson’s research focuses on early identification and treatment of sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome, as well as on systems of care to optimize triage for critically ill patients. Having been a patient at ZSFG herself, Dr. Wilson is committed to ensuring that world-class healthcare is accessible to all in our city who need it.
