Paul Rose

Chief External Relations and Communications Officer

Prior to joining the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation, Paul was a partner at Lighthouse Public Affairs, where he worked with clients on communications and public affairs needs. Previously, he has managed public relations campaigns, overseen communications plans and served as chief spokesperson for several organizations and elected offices in California and New York.

Paul’s service includes being the chief spokesperson and customer service lead at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. In this role, Paul was the chief spokesperson for the high-profile agency that operates Muni, regulates taxis, manages all parking and traffic issues and emerging mobility options in San Francisco. He also served as the communications director for Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums, managed communications for the American Red Cross Bay Area, served as press secretary for the speaker of the New York City Council, as deputy press secretary for the New York City Department of Education under Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and as an assistant press secretary for California Governor Gray Davis.
