Rebecca Schuett

Chief Development Officer

Rebecca has 20 years of experience working in philanthropy in the Bay Area and currently serves as the Chief Development Officer at the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. Prior to the Foundation, Rebecca worked for 14 years at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, where she led the Development team as Chief Philanthropy Officer from 2018 – 2020 in raising $22 million annually.

With a passion for health equity and equal access to healthcare for all, Rebecca uses her expertise in fundraising strategy, leadership and staff development, and relationship building to cultivate and solicit donations for programs at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital that serve the most vulnerable members of the San Francisco community.

Rebecca began her career in Development at The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, CA as Director of Corporate Support where she raised over $2 million annually for the museum’s annual fund for education, Tech Museum Awards Program, and special exhibit projects. Rebecca served on the board of the Golden Gate Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) from 2012-2015; co-chaired the chapter’s National Philanthropy Day in 2013– 2014, and was on the host committee for the AFP International Conference in San Francisco in May 2017, and served as a volunteer fundraiser for the American Alliance of Museums 2020 annual event.

Rebecca earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from UC Santa Cruz and a Master of Arts, also in English, from Humboldt State University.
