San Francisco Sunrise
Nathalie Fabri
Nathalie Fabri is a San Francisco artist who specializes in Surreal Urban and Natural Landscapes. Using a variety of bright contrasting colors, she makes city streets come alive under her paintbrush, as the buildings and streets she paints take on the floral landscapes of California. Growing up traveling around the world, she was influenced by books and paintings from Africa, the Middle East, and Haiti. Her earliest memories of wanting to be an artist stemmed from observing the colors in these paintings, leading her to focus on Art in College, where she experimented with many mediums, including printmaking and ceramics, and finally settled on acrylic painting. Nathalie shows her work regularly in the Bay Area, from her studio at Arc Gallery to group and solo shows. She is also a muralist, a children’s book illustrator, a curator, and a community organizer of public art projects.
Hearts in San Francisco Project
The Hearts in San Francisco project debuted in 2004 with 131 heart sculptures, created by local Bay Area artists and auctioned by the Foundation in support of Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.
The Foundation raised nearly 3 million dollars for ZSFG in that first year. Today, we carry on this tradition by commissioning and auctioning a new set of hearts each year. The funds raised support those delivering on the promise of accessible and equitable health care for all in our city.
