Treating the whole city means treating the whole person.

Keeping this city healthy requires more than medical expertise, and it always has. Over the past 150 years, we’ve redefined what innovation in health care actually means.

Since first sending social workers out into the community to fight the TB epidemic, we’ve developed a model of care that moves beyond the clinic walls and into the communities to treat the whole person—and the whole family.

Pairing treatments with health education. Writing prescriptions for medicine and healthy food.  Connecting patients with stable housing and bringing services to the bedside. Simply, we understand that a healthy life requires much more than an annual check-up. With new thinking like this, Zuckerberg San Francisco General is keeping the heart of San Francisco beating strong.
