Zuckerberg San Francisco General is a place of innovation. It is a hub for research, technology, and patient care—all at our city’s public hospital. ZSFG focuses its efforts on meeting patients where they are to provide the care that is right for each patient in that moment. The trauma center is the only Level 1 trauma center in San Francisco and northern San Mateo County and has the primary goal of saving more lives.

The hospital is continuously innovating and evolving. From being a pioneer in AIDS research and treatment to being a global teacher in amputee protocols and care, ZSFG is constantly learning how to do things better by listening to its patients.

Thanks to you, the Foundation can do its part by providing seed funding for essential programs like Social Medicine, the Trauma Recovery Center, and other models of care that support not just the physical recovery of patients but also address emotional and environmental needs. The funds you provide go toward putting the best tools into the hands of the Emergency Department—like state-of-the-art MRI machines and faster ways to diagnose life threatening illness. We fund better ways to support the whole patient—physically and emotionally—to heal the whole person.
