Mi Hermano Mi Corazon

Marianne Fay

2004

This extraordinarily rich heart is Marianne Fay’s tribute to San Francisco General Hospital’s Trauma Center and Intensive Care Unit. After her brother was found dead on the streets after a violent encounter, he was rushed to ZSFG where he was literally brought back to life. The imagery used evokes both the mortal danger to which her brother had been exposed and his tenacious will to live. Marianne considers this piece repayment to the hospital workforce for the remarkable gift of her brothers life.
