A true display of teamwork is how Tiffany describes the Pediatrics Unit. Working as both a floor nurse and a charge nurse, Tiffany is well-versed in fostering collaboration and healthy communication amongst her team members.
“Communication is always the key,” says Tiffany. “We all talk and know each other’s patients, it’s a collaborative effort here all the time.”
Working in pediatrics is the best of both worlds for Tiffany. She loves being able to play with the children and watch them get better but also finds great joy in welcoming new families and their babies.
“I enjoy meeting all walks of life and having a different routine every day,” says Tiffany. “It’s why I love this job.”
Tiffany takes pride in the trust her team builds with patients. Even in situations where patients make return visits, Tiffany is glad to see that families immediately feel at ease in the healthcare team’s presence, speaking to the trust the team builds during each visit.
She also shines a spotlight on the excellent clear communication her team provides for patients. She mentions that it is a core pillar to always talk through each step of the healthcare journey thoroughly with families. This ensures that everything is adequately explained, and that families are fully aware of any follow-up steps.
“You can see the care and meaning behind what we do when we take our time to make sure people understand,” says Tiffany.
