As charge nurse in the inpatient psychiatry unit, Jesse leads the team. He sets schedules for nurses, but also optimizes patient flow, setting meetings with doctors and social workers while also supporting the patient with the appropriate interventions. 

The patients Jesse works with often come to him in very distraught situations. He takes pride in his team’s ability to give each individual compassionate care and help them safely navigate toward stability. Providing a recovery pathway for patients is extremely rewarding to Jesse. 

Jesse adds that his work goes far beyond the four walls of the patient’s room. He helps in referring individuals to outpatient services and plays an essential role in connecting them to continued care, where they can access their medication and other necessities.
