Dr. Susan Ehrlich, CEO of ZSFG, was selected as one of the San Francisco Examiner’s inaugural San Franciscans of the Year.
Chosen by San Francisco Examiner readers and designed to celebrate and honor the leaders and stewards of our community, this year’s awardees were celebrated for their innovative work and leadership towards a brighter future for our City.
She has frequently touted her data-driven approach to medicine and bolstering the hospital’s medical database — a key reason why ZSFG was set up to respond accordingly during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. Ehrlich has long understood the connection between public health, mental health and The City’s ongoing homeless crisis — unhoused people account for a large portion of the hospital’s patient base.
Leading San Francisco’s only public hospital is no small feat, and Dr. Ehrlich does it with compassion and dedication to health equity. Congratulations Dr. Ehrlich!
