On behalf of the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation and Essential Hospitals Institute, thank you for joining Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) for this important exchange of ideas, data, and technology.

AL and ML demonstrate transformative potential to improve health outcomes and equity. Despite the potential benefits, essential hospitals often encounter delays and challenges in adopting these technologies, sometimes leading to a mismatch between available solutions and the needs of populations that face social and economic barriers to care. This can lead to underutilization and misalignment of technological benefits, potentially widening health disparities rather than bridging them. The imperative to embrace these technologies equitably has never been greater.

This symposium seeks to address this gap by facilitating the exchange of data and technology among essential hospitals. Attendees will:

• Share best practices for integrating data science   

• Discuss how to use AI and ML to improve patient outcomes  
• Develop a framework for sharing data and technology among institutions with similar challenges and patient populations
