“How we care shapes who we are.” 

While San Francisco has spent the last few months sharing their appreciation with the essential workers in our city’s hospitals through meal deliveries and clapping at 8pm, the team at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital has felt so grateful for a community that stood behind them.

A group of doctors and nurses from ZSFG came together on Monday to make sure San Francisco heard their message of thanks loud and clear.

Organized by Paint the Void, an initiative that funds local artists to create works of art on the boarded-up windows of the city’s stores and restaurants, this mural project brought together over 20 doctors and nurses, all with the vision and design of artist Jen Bloomer of Radici Studios. With the outlines of a color-book style mural painted on the 43 foot mural in the weeks before, the team from ZSFG showed up ready to paint along the Market Street windows of iconic San Francisco restaurant Zuni Cafe.

“We understand how incredibly difficult it has been for all of us to observe these measures [of shelther-in-place] and acknowledge that throughout the pandemic, we have relied on one another to persist. We want to t
