From one essential worker to another, the staff at Mollie Stone’s Market in the Castro and Twin Peaks have been thinking of our hospital frontline workers while on shift. Beginning in April 2020, the store began a fundraiser for healthcare workers at Zuckerberg San Francisco General at checkout -asking shoppers to donate to support their heroic efforts.
Over the last eight months, this initiative has not gone unnoticed. Store owner Mike Stone promised to match all donations received. And last month, the grand total came in. Over $58,000 raised by customers. And that meant one giant check for $117,516.12 from Mollie Stone’s Markets to the Foundation.
“As we all do our best to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to make sure our local hospitals have the support they need to continue to fight and help our community navigate this unprecedented time. We are proud to support our community and these heroes during this crisis,” he added, “I would also like to thank our wonderful employees who played a significant role in getting contributions at the store.” Mike Stone
We share with Mollie Stone’s Markets an immense amount of gratitude for the customers who gave generously during this matched drive. Every donation, no matter the size, is making a difference for our essential healthcare workers at ZSFG.
