Thank you! We are so grateful to those of you who joined us for Heroes & Hearts and Hearts After Dark last Thursday to celebrate our beloved Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG). Thanks to your generous support we raised over $1.8 million this year. Your steadfast commitment to the Foundation at this event and throughout the year helps us continue to support ZSFG in their mission to provide compassionate care for all in our community.
It was an honor to celebrate two heroes, Caroline Watson and Karen Aguilar, for “going above and beyond.” They are both driving new models of patient care, support, and empowerment through their work at HIVE and Gender Health SF. Visit our YouTube channel to watch and share their films.
Mayor Mark Farrell and former Mayor Willie Brown both reflected on ZSFG’s role as an invaluable public institution and noted how the hospital delivers world-class care to everyone in our community. We also celebrated the legacies of those we’ve lost in the past year, including Foundation Board member Patrick Smith and Mayor Ed Lee. As Foundation Board Chair Judy Guggenhime remarked, these men were among our hospital’s first responders – caring for ZSFG during critical times.
We also enjoyed an inspiring new series of Hearts in San Francisco sculptures. Thank you to those of you who purchased and bid on these incredible sculptures.
You can also take a look at and purchase the 2018 Heroes & Hearts photos here.
We are always humbled by the outpouring of support to celebrate ZSFG with us at Heroes & Hearts, but we know not everyone can attend. If you were unable to be there, we hope you can attend in the future. I know you will find it to be an emotional and inspiring event, one that will fully demonstrate the impact of your support for ZSFG.
If you were unable to attend and still want to make a gift, you can donate online. We greatly appreciate your support, which helps the Foundation continue to fund vital programs and services at ZSFG.
