Call for Artists | Accepting Application Submissions for the 2017 ‘Hearts in San Francisco’ Public Art Series

The Foundation has opened submissions to San Francisco Bay Area artists for the annual ‘Hearts in San Francisco’ project and public art series. For the 2017 series, the Foundation welcomes design submissions by up-and-coming and established local artists, as well as acclaimed artists whose artwork is featured in the new Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. Design renderings may be submitted online at by the Monday, August 1, 2016 deadline. A Letter from Board President, Connie Shanahan

It has been an exciting year for the Foundation. In November, we gathered for the ribbon cutting and dedication celebration for the hospital’s beautiful new acute care and trauma center, which will open later this spring. Then on December 31, the Heart of Our City Capital Campaign came to a close. I am proud to report that, together, we raised more than $141 million to purchase critical medical equipment and furnishings for the new acute care facility. When we began the capital campaign in 2011, it was by far the largest fundraising effort in the Foundation’s history. Dedication and Ribbon-Cutting Celebration Marks Completion of New Acute Care and Trauma Center

Last November, San Francisco General Hospital Foundation joined state and city officials, hospital staff, patients, and hundreds of San Francisco residents to celebrate construction completion of the beautiful new acute care and trauma center at Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.
