San Francisco General Hospital Foundation (SFGHF) is a dynamic and growing nonprofit fundraising organization dedicated to promoting equity in healthcare for all at the Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG). Zuckerberg San Francisco General is the only provider of trauma (Level 1) and 24-hour psychiatric emergency services for 1.5 million people in San Francisco and northern San Mateo counties.

 

A comprehensive medical center, Zuckerberg San Francisco General provides quality health care with compassion and respect to 100,000 inpatient and 500,000 outpatient visits per year, including some of San Francisco’s most vulnerable. In addition, Zuckerberg San Francisco General is one of the nation’s top tertiary academic medical centers conducting clinical training and research. In 2016, Zuckerberg San Francisco General opened a new acute care hospital and the Foundation concluded a successful multi-million-dollar capital campaign.

POSITION SUMMARY:


Reporting to the Associate Director of Development Operations, the Database Manager is a critical operational role that works closely with Development and Finance team members to provide crucial data and analysis in support of organizational revenue goals.

 

This position oversees the organization’s donor database (Raiser’s Edge) to improve database utilization and support donor and prospect identification, solicitation, and stewardship. Duties include gift entry, proper data hygiene, analysis of trends and statistics to guide fundraising work, reliable reporting, and adherence to best practices. This position also works closely with Finance team members to reconcile figures and ensure best practice compliance.

 

This is a temporary position with approximately 15 working hours each week. The ideal candidate will be available from April 3 through September 29. Remote or hybrid is possible.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Oversee the SFGHF donor database, Raiser’s Edge, and enter gifts, grants, pledges, and proposals
  • Proactively provide insights and analytics to the Development team, including data reporting and analysis to best meet fundraising needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to effectively support organizational objectives
  • Produce various recurring and one-off lists and reports
  • Perform regular audits to ensure the integrity of the data and make ongoing updates and corrections to donor records
  • Reconcile gifts, grants, and pledges with the Finance department
  • Generate gift reports detailing individual, corporate, foundation, and other revenue and/or outstanding gifts
  • Coordinate donor giving information for audit and recognition purposes
  • Work closely with Finance to complete the annual audit

  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge required; formal training and/or certification a plus
  • 3+ years’ experience in the field of database management
  • Computer proficiency and demonstrated ability to learn new systems
    • Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
    • Experience with OneCause, MailChimp, and Omatic a plus
